Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has distanced himself from reports linking him with the Old Trafford job in the future. Reports had suggested that the board at United were going to monitor his progress at Valencia.

Neville became Valencia manager last week, which is his first managerial role after being assistant for the England national team for a few years. Immediately, the reports started about him becoming the United manager in the future, but Neville says he doesn't see himself managing United.

Neville told Sky Sports, his former employer,:"No, I don't see myself managing Manchester United at all" which will put a few people straight who thought he was next in line after Louis van Gaal to take the United job.

The former-United captain continued to say, "I know what I want to do in my life, and the United job is not something that is on my mind" as he puts his full concentration on doing a job for the rest of the season at Valencia.

On getting the Valencia job, Neville said, "from my point of view, this is important for me and a valuable experience" and that's what you want to see from former United players as they try and gain the experience of managing in tough league, and maybe one day Neville will rethink about taking the United job.
