Southampton make the trip to the Liberty Stadium this weekend in the Premier League to face Swansea City as they look to continue their fine run of form after picking up 13 points from the last 15 available.

Great match in prospect

The match in South Wales looks set to be an exciting encounter between two attack-minded sides with plenty to play for, as the Saints challenge for Europe and Swansea look to avoid the drop.

The crucial battles could be won in midfield but Southampton will be without midfielder Victor Wanyama after he picked up his third red card of the season last weekend against West Ham, meaning he will be out of action for five matches.

The meeting at the Liberty between the two last season saw Saints clinch a narrow 1-0 win late on thanks to a goal from Wanyama.

Jon Moss record

Jon Moss has been in charge of two of Southampton's games so far this season. He presided over two big wins for Ronald Koeman's side; their 3-0 win over Norwich City at the beginning of the season and their famous Boxing Day thrashing of Arsenal.

He has officiated 22 Premier League games so far this season, dishing out 66 yellow cards in that time frame and four reds.

In the game between West Ham and Chelsea earlier on in the season he handed out seven yellows and one red in what to date remains as his most card friendly game.

He also handed out seven yellows in the Championship match between Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers at the end of last year. Moss has been a Premier League referee since 2011 after a long stint in the Football League between 2003-2010.

Last season he dished out 143 yellow cards as well as nine reds from 37 games, at a ratio of close to four yellows a game and one red in every four matches.

He also officiated the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Aston Villa which the Gunners easily won 4-0 at Wembley in the May of last year.
