A place in the final of the Audi Cup is up for grabs on Tuesday when La Liga side Real Madrid takes on the Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Madrid's pre-season so far

Madrid are well into their pre-season preparations, with Rafael Benitez's side not in competitive action until August 23,which sees them kick off their La Liga campaign against newly-promoted side Sporting Gijon.

Victory on Tuesday will see one more pre-season game before they round off their preparation with a fixture against Valerenga at the weekend. They have been successful so far throughout their pre-season campaign, however it got off to a rocky start in the International Champions Cup losing to Italian side Roma on penalties after playing out a goalless draw in normal time.

They returned to winning ways in spectacular style with a 4-1 drubbing of Manchester City which they followed up with a convincing victory over Inter Milan. Their final game of the ICC tournament came in the United States against Inter’s city rivals AC Milan which was another goalless draw, but it Benitez's side that gained victory in the shootout.

Tottenham's form guide

Tottenham are only at the beginning of their pre-season preparations ahead of the new Premier League season only playing their first pre-season game only on Thursday. Mauricio Pochettino and his squad flew to Colorado to face the MLS All-Stars XI but their first match back ended up been defeated with a spectacular solo goal from Harry Kane not enough to cancel out earlier efforts from Kaka and David Villa.

Tottenham are very much behind their Premier League in terms of readiness with Spurs still have at least another game after this one ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester United on Saturday, August 8.

Pochettino will be fully expected to be mounting a push for the Champions League again this season however with only additions to their defence with; Toby Alderweireld, Kevin Wimmer and Kieran Trippier all coming it could prove difficult but who knows what a victory against the Galacticos.

Team news

This could be a special game for one individual in particular in Gareth Bale as if the Welshman does start this will be first time that he will play against his former club since £85m world-record move back in 2013.

He could be one of the only big names to feature with neither Cristiano Ronaldo or Karim Benzema travelling with the squad to Germany.

As for Spurs, Kane is expected to start and lead the line and is expected to be supported by Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli while Dele Ali is expected to make his first start for the club.

Real Madrid will play Tottenham at the Allianz Arena, Munich, on August 4 with kick off at 5:15 PM.
