Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart is tipping new signing Vincent Janssen to become a club legend and thinks he is a great striker.
Janssen is a great striker, says Van der Vaart
Janssen signed for Spurs in a £18 million deal last week after catching the eye by scoring 27 goals in 34 Eredivisie appearances last season for AZ Alkmaar.
Van der Vaart, who spent two years at White Hart Lane between 2010 and 2012, is backing Janssen to make a big impact for his former club in the Premier League.
Speaking to Tottenham's official website, the former midfielder said "in my opinion, Tottenham have signed a great striker" in Janssen and he will only continue to get better over time. Van der Vaart says that Janssen is "still young, but he is a real striker" which he has shown over the past year with his impressive goal record.
The former midfielder continued to say that Janssen "loves to play and work for the team" which means he is suited for a Mauricio Pochettino team. Van der Vaart went on to say that Janssen "does not just score goals, he makes a goal as well" which makes him the complete striker.
Van der Vaart is backing Janssen to become a club legend
The only question about Janssen will be will he be able to do what he has done in the Eredivisie in the Premier League as it is so much harder. Van der Vaart though is sure that he can do it in the Premier League and feels he can become a legend at the club.
Van der Vaart says that "if you work hard at Tottenham and in the Premier League" then things will become so much easier for you. The midfielder continued to say that he thinks Janssen will be a "great signing for Tottenham and could become a legend" at the club if he is hit straight away.
