It is reported that West Ham target, Belgium's Michy Batshuayi, has agreed a move to Crystal Palace for a fee of €38million.

One that got away ?

The 22-year-old is considered one of the most talented young strikers in the continent, scoring 17 league goals for current club, Marseille last season.

His star status grew recently having scored the third in Belgium's 4-0 win over Hungary in the last 16 of Euro 2016.

Manager Slaven Bilic has been an admirer of the Belgian, initially making a move back in January, and reportedly bid what would have been a club record transfer of £31m, at the end of May.

However despite interest from both the Hammers, and Italian giants Juventus, it seems that the Eagles could be ahead race for the striker.

In need of a striker

It seems to be common knowledge that West Ham are looking for a striker to lead their front line next season.

They have been linked with numerous targets, with the likes of; Batshuayi, Jamie Vardy, Theo Walcott, Carlos Bacca and Alexandre Lacazette, all linked with a move.

The Hammers have been active already this summer - securing the signatures of Havard Nordtveit and Sofiane Feghouli - but Bilic insisted that he wants a striker.

He told MailOnline that the club were "proud" and "glad" to have captured both Feghouli and Nordtveit as "other big clubs" were "trying for them".

He added that "everyone knows" that West Ham are looking out for a "top-class striker" and that if they can find a "20-goals-a-season man" there is "no reason why" they cant "improve on last season" and "challenge the Premier League's top teams".

West Ham United will take on Juventus in the Betway Cup at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, on Sunday, August 7 with kick-off at 1:30pm BST.
