Antonio Conte has been appointed as replacement to Cesare Prandelli as Italian National Football Team head coach.

The former Bianconeri man was confirmed as long term replacement to Cesare Prandelli on Thursday evening by the Italian Football Federation.

He signed a 2-year-deal and will be presented on Tuesday of the week beginning on the eighteenth of August.

Cesare Prandelli resigned from his position at the top of Italian Football after his Italy side were knocked out of the 2014 Brazil World Cup in the Group Stages.

Conte will become the second highest earning manager in International Football behind Fabio Capello at Russia. His £2.8 million salary at Juventus will be increased and some reports say that the Italian Football Federation will seek help from sponsors Puma to help fund Conte's large salary.

Conte began his managerial career after a fantastic career with Juventus as a midfielder, making over 400 appearances. His first job was at Arezzo and he was sacked after just a few months in charge of the Serie B side.

Spells at Bari and Atalanta were very contrasting. He saved Bari from seemingly certain relegation before confronting Atalanta fans and resigning while leaving them in 19th place.

After leading Siena to promotion in his only season, Conte was appointed Juventus boss in 2011. In his three years in charge he brought Juventus' damaged reputation back up to scratch, winning three Serie A titles in his three years.

Conte quit Juventus in the summer, sparking rumours of him taking up the vacant Italian head coach role in place of Prandelli.

The Italian Football Federation are expected to make the appointment official on Friday.
