A scintillating Sunday fixture list could see the Eredivisie have a new league leader by the end of the weekend as PSV face possibly the toughest opponents in the league so far. The league hosts three massive games on Sunday which should bring enjoyment for all.

Den Haag v Ajax

After comfortably beating Heerenveen 4-1 last week, Ajax are hosted by ADO Den Haag, who currently find themselves 15th in the Eredivisie. The away side were crushed in Paris in their midweek Champions League clash with PSG, and will hope to repair the damage by defeating a significantly weaker opposition on Sunday. Despite having a rough season so far, Den Haag still sit 8 points above the relegation zone, so a defeat this weekend wouldn’t be too detrimental. With league leaders PSV hosting in-form Feyenoord, it is imperative for Ajax that they do not drop any points this weekend. If PSV lose to Feyenoord and Ajax topple Den Haag, then Ajax will climb to the top of the table. It’s difficult to see an upset occur in this fixture, especially with Ajax so eager to keep up this incredible title race. All things considered, this should be one of the easier fixtures for the current champions of the Netherlands.

Prediction: Den Haag 0-3 Ajax

PSV v Feyenoord

One of the few colossal fixtures of the Eredivisie campaign comes around this Sunday, and the script couldn’t have been written more perfectly. PSV started this season with a near perfect record, putting games to bed in the first half. Feyenoord are currently the team to beat, with only 10 teams in the whole of Europe’s top leagues having conceded less than the Rotterdam side. After their poor beginning to the season, Feyenoord are currently the side illustrating the best form in the entire league. With PSV clinging on to their top spot and Feyenoord looking to continue their excellent patch of form, this could be one of the games of the season. Both sides have won 5 out their past 6 fixtures, but their records have to give somehow this weekend. It’s a game that’s impossible to call, with both squads looking to take home all three points.

Prediction: PSV 2-1 Feyenoord

Twente v Groningen

FC Twente currently sit in 3rd place, closely followed by Feyenoord who have racked up the same points tally this season. Groningen find themselves 8th, but could climb or fall a few places depending on the result of this game. However, Groningen have demonstrated depressing form, winning only one of their past 6 fixtures in the Eredivisie. This statistic alone illustrates the task they have to overcome this weekend against an extremely strong Twente side, who have won their last three league games. it doesn’t take a genius to configure the underdog for this fixture, but Groningen’s experience in the top flight may just produce a surprise for all that tune into the game.

Prediction: Twente 4-2 Groningen
