Wales' unbeaten start to Euro 2016 qualifying has led to a jump of 15 places in the FIFA World Rankings, as the Red Dragons' were officially confirmed as having moved up to 22nd earlier today.

A Gareth Bale inspired side beat Israel 3-0 in March to briefly top their group before being overtaken by Belgium, who they face at home in June. Their previous highest ranking was 27th, when they narrowly failed to reach the 1994 World Cup. The ranking shows a dramatic increase for the national team, who were placed as low as 116th in 2011.

England leapt three places and are now in 14th place, above Alexis Sanchez's Chile side and Costa Rica. The Three Lions have also had an unbeaten start to qualifying, winning all their games so far.

Elsewhere in the home nations, Northern Ireland rose to 42nd whilst Scotland went up by 10 places and now find themselves lodged in 29th. Republic of Ireland, the lowest ranked home nations side, have gone above Australia and are into 62nd place.

At the top of the rankings, Wales' group rivals Belgium are up to a record high of third whilst Germany and Argentina remain first and second. Switzerland have surpassed 2010 World Cup winners Spain and find themselves in ninth place, with Spain a place below.

Anguila now have the pain of being ranked as the worst national team in the world, as they slipped down a place to 209th.
