France and Juventus left-back Patrice Evra has publicly vented his frustrations, after Les Bleus succumed to their second consecutive defeat with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Albania.

A first-half free-kick courtesy of Ergys Kace was the only goal of the game as Didier Deschamps' men were unimpressive and struggled to break down their opposition well enough to score, and as a result, have suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time in three years.

Evra stated after their 1-0 defeat that the team have lacked the desire they've shown in recent years, and it's having an adverse effect on the way they've been playing. "We represent a country. You can mess up a pass or a touch but you can't lack desire."

Having reached the quarter-finals of last summer's international competition, the former Manchester United defender continued. "We got into the habit of working hard at the World Cup, we showed a good side to the French people, desire and respect for the shirt, and we have lost all that in recent matches."

France, who host next year's Euros, will be under intense scrutiny as they attempt to find out how to resolve the current situation they find themselves in. With the squad they have on paper, which includes the likes of Hugo Lloris, Räphael Varane, Laurent KoscielnyBlaise Matuidi, Paul Pogba, Mathieu Valbuena, Alexandre Lacazette, Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann - just to name a few, they should be performing better as a nation together.

Evra has also said they should not hide, but instead bounce back from their troubles and prove their worth. "We must not hide, we must accept the criticism because it is deserved. Sometimes we don't know how lucky we are. How many players would like to be in our place?

Some people will see that it was hot, that it was Albania, but it is a lack of respect to the French national team. We have got a bit too comfortable. I am not worried but we need to watch out. The Euros are in one year, not four. We need to shut up and get down to work."
