Borussia Dortmund have blocked a summer move of Robert Lewandowski to Bayern Munich, and they are fools to do so. The Polish striker has said he will not sign a new contract at the club, and if they don't sell him now they risk losing him next summer and not cashing in on the highly rated striker.

So why are Dortmund refusing a sale of Lewandowski? Is it just because it's Bayern Munich and they have already stolen their number 1 player and don't want to lose their number 2 best player to their only real rival in terms of quality in Germany? Probably. But Dortmund do have Marco Reus to lean on, he is a player who can play up top. They just recently signed Kevin De Bruyne from Chelsea, have Ilkay Gundogan to orchestrate things in the midfield, and have a great back-line. Hardball can be an effective way to tell teams to back off a player, but only if that player has already committed his future.

Sooner or later we will see soe movement in the Lewandowski saga. He has made it crystal clear he does not want to be at that club anymore, it could be detrimental for them to keep him around much longer.
