Nuremberg continued their fine resurgent Bundesliga form in the Rückrunde on Sunday afternoon, with a 1-0 away win over inform outfit, FC Augsburg. Josip Drmic claimed all three points after heading home on 65 minutes.

The win lifted the away side up to 14th in the current standings, whilst Augsburg remain 9th after having their remarkable 8 game unbeaten streak ruined on their own turf.

It was always going to be a tight affair with both teams having a fair bit to play for individually, and the game lived up to be exactly that; a closely contested game where from the start, it seemed as if it could go either way. However this was down to the fact that the chances created were minimal, and neither team were seemingly ready to throw everything they had at their opponents in order to get the goal and frankly, the first half was a half to forget.

Nuremberg's winner came midway through the second half; Drmic nodding in his 11th of this Bundesliga campaign after doing superbly well to leap above Augsburg's Klavan to glance the ball into the far corner, no chance for Manninger in goal.

The hosts will face Freiburg next Saturday, looking to bounce back from a minor slip in their league season, whilst Nuremberg will hope to continue where they left off when they host bottom club Eintracht Braunschweig at the same time.
