Borussia Dortmund were given a sterner opposition this weekend as their pre season schedule continued, and striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang rescued his side and earned Jurgen Klopp's side a win in their fixture against Italian side Chievo.

Columbian forward Adrian Ramos was given his debut and he played the first half of a game which offered little at either end of the pitch, his first taster in the yellow jersey after his switch from Hertha Berlin in the summer.

It's consecutive wins for BVB in pre season now, after the 5-1 demolition of Rot Weiss Essen last weekend, a game in which Aubameyang also scored. The Gabon striker now has 4 goals in this pre season schedule, and is looking very good ahead of the start of the Bundesliga season, and he may have a bigger responsibility this campaign playing centrally as the main man should this form continue, especially after the loss of Robert Lewandowski.

There were limited chances for both sides across the 90 minutes however Dortmund did control the game and dictate the play more in the second half, and the goal came with around 15 minutes remaining after a great effort from a hardworking Chievo team.

From an inswinging corner from the right, Ji Dong Won flicked on and after the ball fell down in the box, Aubameyang was able to pounce and fire past the goalkeeper. It proved to be the decider in the end, and it gave Klopp's side another victory heading into a new season with new expectations.

The German giants have an enthralling encounter lined up next Sunday against Liverpool at Anfield, which is sure to be a cracker, but they also have fixtures against Bilbao and Slask Wroclaw to come.
