Today it has been rumoured that VfL Wolfsburg are lining up a bid for Hoffenheim's Anthony Modeste as search for a new striker. The attention has been turned to the former-Blackburn man, as Wolfsburg lost out in the pursuit of fellow forwards: Mario Mandzukic, Romelu Lukaku and Álvaro Morata.

The Frenchmen was ready to move to Lokomotiv Moscow but the deal did not materialise and now Wolfsburg are preparing a £6 million bid for the forward. Hertha Berlin are also rumoured to be interested signing him up, after losing star man Adrian Ramos to Borussia Dortmund over the summer.

Modeste would play as back-up to an aging Ivica Olic, Klaus Allofs has been desperately trying to get another striker to join the Wolves. If the French forward joins up with Wolfsburg, he'll join Sebastian Jung, Aaron Hunt and Joshua Guilavogui at the Volkswagen Arena. A physical number nine with a double figure goal tally, he would be a useful back-up to Dieter Hecking's side.
