Nico Schulz on; retraining as a midfielder.

"You mean because I am recently, and more frequently, playing in defensive midfield as a six? Sure, it is a bit different than on the left wing. You have the entire game in view more. But that's no problem. I just try to bring my best there."

Nico Schulz on; 3-4-3.

"The difference for us, is that we are more compact in the centre of defence thanks to the three central defenders. And going forward we are flexible, with the two players on the wings and three players up front in the centre. We all try to remember how it works. In the last two years, we have always played a 4-3-3 system. The 3-4-3 is completely different. But it's fun."

Nico Schulz on; the benefits of new formations.

"Something like that is always good. We will surprise the opponents sometimes. We have a big squad and, therefore, the players for it."

Nico Schulz on; his Italian roots.

"I understand Italian, even though I don't speak it well. I very many similarities to my father. And my temper I have of him. Although I often work quietly. But I can be very temperamental just on the court."

Nico Schulz on; being a dad.

"I find changing diapers easy. One has more responsibility with the baby at home. But we have an great child. We may, from time to time in the evening, even go out to eat with friends. My life has not changed greatly. Our daughter is very quiet. In the night my girlfriend Maria is most often with the girl when she wakes up. I will almost never awake them (laughs)."

Nico Schulz on; choosing a name.

"My girlfriend and her mother did it. We wanted to take a name from the family. Had it been a boy, we would have perhaps called the child Leonardo because that was the name of my Italian grandfather. So she became Layla Valentina. We wanted a southern sounding name. The child grows insanely fast. After a week of the training camp she has already changed so much."
