GOALKEEPER

Thomas Kraft (Hertha BSC): Kraft came up against a very strong Wolfsburg attack and was called into action on three occasions. Keeping VFL’s goal tally down to eight. Also in the game, the 26-year-old made one cross claim in the match. Kraft will look to replicate this type of form for this weekend when Hertha will travel to Augsburg.

DEFENDERS

Daniel Brosinski (FSV Mainz 05); Brosinski played a crucial part in Mainz’s 2-2 draw with Frankfurt. The full-back created two chances, he assisted on loan attacker Jonas Hofmann for the first goal in the game, his diagonal ball split the defence open and left Hofmann one-on-one and he took it round the keeper and netted the opener. Some excellent defensive work followed, but he could do nothing about the hosts' goals.

Uwe Hünemeier (SC Paderborn 07): Despite the result, the centre back made four tackles, cleared seven times and made five interceptions but he couldn’t prevent one of the best attackers in the world running riot.

Roman Neudstädter (FC Schalke 04): After a shocking run of form, Schalke’s twenty-six year-old stand in centre back played a pivotal part of in the teams 3-0 win away to Werder Bremen. He completed 86% of his passing, made six interceptions and won four aerial battles but rounded off his magnificent performance by getting his name on the team sheet with a bullet header.

Abdul Rahman Baba (FC Augsburg): ‘Baba’ made the most tackles in the Bundesliga, he won eight tackles, made four interceptions, five clearances and won four headers. Against Bayer Leverkusen the 20 year-old created two chances and two of his three take-ons were successful. Despite his failure to make an impact in the game, he showed promising signs in both attacking and defending departments.

MIDFIELDERS

Xabi Alonso (FC Bayern Munich):  Alonso played a big role in Bayern’s win, not so much as a scoring role but he dictated play and formed a unrivalled partnership with veteran Philipp Lahm in the defensive midfield. In his controlling role, he made 142 passes with a 93% completion rate, 90 passes in the middle third which epitomises his part in the game, building up the play. In this position he made nine ball recoveries, three interceptions and created one chance.

Thomas Müller (FC Bayern Munich): The World Cup winner doubled his scoring tally against Paderborn this week, making it his second goal in five appearances. In his appearance he shown his class, he played a part in Mario Götze’s first goal by cutting it back to his team mate, also attacking, he played his part making three successful take ons. He defensively contributed too, making one block and one clearance. His performance got even better when he put the final nail in the coffin of the newly promoted side when he scored the fourth goal, poking in at the near post.

Mario Götze (FC Bayern Munich): Götze played a pivotal role in Bayern’s 4-0 thrashing of Paderborn, he scored two in their win making three goals in five games. In the game he had seven shots on the away sides goal, three off target, three on target and one shot blocked. Also in the game, he made two key passes, on the hour mark and twelve minutes before time. In his advanced winger role, he completed seventy-five passes with a percentage of 88% success rate. Daniel Didavi (VfB Stuttgart): Daniel Didavi was the surprise package of Matchday 5, shocking the Dortmund defence by scoring both of his team's goals in their 2-2 draw at Signal Iduna Park. His two shots came in his only two shots on goal, which subsequently were on target. In his playmaking role he made 74% passing success rate and one chance was created. Sadly, he couldn’t guide his team over the line and Borussia Dortmund came back to draw 2-2.

STRIKERS

Haris Seferović (Eintracht Frankfurt): The 22-year-old got himself on the scoresheet eight minutes from time to steal a point for his team against Mainz, following Stendara’s assist. He created one chance and won 50% of his aerial duels. Adding to his goal tally making it two this season. But he insured the home crowd gained a point after falling to a 2-0 deficit at home.

Mike Frantz (SC Freiburg): Freiburg's summer signing made his first real impact for his new club. Frantz netted a brace in the 3-3 draw with Hoffenheim, putting them 0-2 up. A Jannick Vestergaard equaliser in the depths of added time overshadowed his achievements, but it's a vital point for Christian Streich's men who remain winless.
