Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed the signing of veteran costless agent goalkeeper, Timo Hildebrand, in the wake of Kevin Trapp's untimely injury. Details of the contract remain undisclosed, but it is believed that it is a one year deal.

The seven time German international, now 35, has had previous spells in the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart, Hoffenheim and most recently Schalke where he was deputy to Manuel Neuer then Ralf Fährmann.

Despite Hildebrand being the more experienced of the two fit keepers in the team, 24-year-old Felix Wiedwald is expected to be number one in Trapp's absence. Hildebrand has been allocated the number twenty-six jersey.

"In the past few weeks I have trained with Kai Rabe in Karlsruhe and I feel good, I am fit. Eintracht is a club with a special charisma and I'm looking forward to this task, as well as working with Thomas Schaaf and the team, " said Hildebrand. "Through my involvement in training three years ago I had an insight into the team and the club."
