In the reverse fixture two weeks ago, Mönchengladbach ran riot at Borussia-Park and put five past the Cypriots. Four of the goals came in the second half as Hrgota got the second, Traore got Borussia's third and his second, Herrmann made it four and an Angeli own goal completed the five.

Two points separate the sides in Group A, with Borussia in second with five and Apollon in third with three.

Apollon come into the game off the back of two victories against Ethnikos Achna and Doxa respectively and they are sitting pretty in second place, four points behind champions league contestants APOEL.

Gladbach however have played three games since, two league games and one cup tie. In the league they held Champions Bayern Munich to a 0-0 draw and beat Hoffenheim 3-1 at home. In the cup Borussia brushed aside fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt to progress to the DFB Pokal third round. The victory against Hoffenheim stretched Borussia's unbeaten run to 17 games in all competitions this season.

The expected win for Borussia would see them jump to eight points and open a five point gap between themselves and their opposition, which would just about rule Limassol out of qualifying for the knockout stages.

A win is vital for Limassol, who will wish to keep their Europa League dream alive. They would leapfrog Borussia in the process if they won but if they lost and Zurich won they would see themselves at the bottom of the group.

Possible lineups:

Apollon: Vale, Mulder, João Paulo, Merkis, Meriem; Vasiliou, Hugo López, Stojanović, Sangoy; Papoulis, Thuram.

Gladbach: Sommer, Wendt, Stranzl, Jantschke, Korb; Kramer, Nordtveit; Herrmann, Raffael, Hahn, Hrgota.

Prediction: Apollon Limassol 0-3 Borussia Mönchengladbach
