Jürgen Klopp, as usual praised the club’s fans and also had high praise for his striker Ciro Immobile: “We are still alive. We can still play football and we also didn’t forget how to fight. In case I may not be manager of this club anymore one day, I will miss nothing more than this stadium.

I think it’s unique worldwide to have an atmosphere like this while you’re 16th in the table. I have not seen any striker play the way Ciro Immobile played here tonight for a long time. That was without a doubt his best match he has played for us so far.“

Sebastian Kehl, will be hurting after his two errors were punished with goals from Wolfsburg: "If you play like that and still concede the equaliser, you can never be happy. We really needed the three points. At the same time, you have to be realistic. Wolfsburg are a really strong side and are rightly second in the table. That puts the result into perspective. We gave it everything, but still it's not all running as smoothly as it should. In some way, we have to be happy with the point."

Ciro Immobile inspired his team with his work rate and late goal which ended his long league drought but was keen to stress his problems are secondary to the team: "When we play with the bit between our teeth, we can do some real damage. I always try to do my best for the team. We've been suffering from a lack of confidence and that's why things haven't gone that well for us recently. The most important thing is that we manage to climb away from the bottom of the table. Obviously I'm relieved and happy right now [after scoring], but my own situation isn't that important. The most important thing is that the team gets out of trouble. We all have to work hard to make that happen."

Serbian defender Neven Subotic remains optimistic after the draw: "We have to accept the point. It's one more than we got at the weekend. Despite our current situation the fans stuck by us and we fought until the bitter end. We did everything we could and our legs are aching right now. I felt we did well today. Everything was in place for us to get the three points, but then we were pegged back to 2-2 near the end. We still didn't allow our opponents too many chances and created a lot of opportunities at the other end. We've got a long way to go until we're back where we want to be and we won't be able to win all our games. We've taken a step in the right direction against Wolfsburg, though, and our attitude was spot on."

Diego Benaglio, who captained Wolfsburg to a valuable point at the Westfalen, was happy in the mixed zone: "Both sides played well. When you're 2-1 down it's a point gained. Considering how the game unfolded, we have to be content with the draw."
