Nils Petersen is rumoured to be leaving Werder to SC Freiburg and will spend the second half of the season on loan there. On the other hand, Bremen brought in U-19 European Championship winner Levin Öztunali from Bayer Leverkusen.

Nils Petersen recently lost his place at Werder Bremen and is venturing to Breisgau in search of a new beginning. The striker will move on loan to Freiburg, who are rumoured to have an option to purchase the attacker. The 26-year-old was moved to Bremen at the beginning of the 2011/12 season, from FC Bayern, and has since featured in 69 Bundesliga games, scoring 18 goals.

"There is contact between the clubs and we are in talks about Nils," said Bremen sporting director Thomas Eichin to SPORT1 .

It seems very likely this winter break will be the final one for Petersen in the green of Werder, and the end of his four year tenure with die Grün-Weißen.
