Following his move to Inter Milan, Xherdan Shaqiri has confirmed that he was unhappy at Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.

The versatile attacker was desperate to leave the Allianz Arena due to his bit-part role at the club under Pep Guardiola, and is now ready to play wherever Roberto Mancini needs him.

The Switzerland international, 23, joined Bayern Munich from FC Basel in 2012, and impressed in his first season at the Bavarian club, but he was deemed surplus to requirements by Guardiola this term.

Shaqiri sealed a loan move to Inter last week with the option of making a permanent move to the Italian side.

“I wasn’t completely happy at Bayern. I need to play because that’s the only way I can dhow what I’m worth,” Shaqiri said at his press conference.

“I learnt a lot of things at Bayern and was able to play with many great players. I’ll try to make use of my experience in Munich to win silverware with Inter.”

The attacker then went on to state how he doesn’t like being compared to any other player, before saying he is happy to play anywhere for Mancini.

“In any case, I think that all players are different and I’m not a fan of comparing myself to others. We all have our own characteristics.

“I already showed at Bayern that I can play in a variety of position. But it’s Mancini’s job to decide when I will play. I feel most comfortable as a No. 10, where I can roam across the attack and have the chance to both shoot and pass, but obviously I’ll do whatever the boss asks of me.”

The 23-year old has represented Switzerland on 41 occasions, scoring 15 goals, whilst making 52 appearances in three years at Bayern Munich.
