Eintracht Frankfurt defender Anderson Bamba has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Bundesliga side.

Anderson, 27, signed for a further three years until 2018 with the club that are currently sitting ninth in the league table.

The Brazilian joined Eintracht from Borussia Monchengladbach in August 2012 following a successful loan spell at the Commerzbank-Arena the previous season.

Anderson has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Eintracht this season. He told the clubs website: “I am very happy that I am staying for three more years.

“I feel very comfortable in Frankfurt, my family likes is here very much, which is important to me.

“I get along very well with the coach and the team. In addition, the last three-and-a-half years were also very successful for me.

“I wanted to continue. That’s why I extended.”

Sporting Director, Bruno Hübner added: “Eintracht Frankfurt is pleased that Bamba remains here for another three years.

“Bamba is a major part of our team for almost four years and he also has a large share of our successful first half [of the season].”

Eintracht travel to Freiburg on January 31 to kick start their second half of the season.
