Borussia Dortmund have handed promising young defender Jeremy Dudziak his first professional deal, taking him through until 2018.

It's been a whirlwind twelve months for the left-sided player, who has impressed greatly for BVB II and Dortmund's first team in the winter break, was deservedly handed a professional contract.

Dudziak also won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in the summer, although he was restricted to limited game time after picking up an injury in the group stages.

“Jeremy has developed very positively over the last couple of months, and has deservedly moved up into the first-team squad. It’s good to see one of our very own players reaching the professional ranks,” said sporting director Michael Zorc.

“I’ve been with BVB since the age of 14. It has always been my dream to play professional football for BVB,” said Dudziak. He went on to add, “Now this dream has come true and I promise that I will continue to work hard in the future.”

Dortmund return to action on Saturday, when they face off against Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena.
