Borussia Dortmund made it three wins in a row after a 3-2 win at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. The win was a lot more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.

Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, İlkay Gündoğan and Marco Reus were enough for the visitors.

Kevin Kampl nearly broke the deadlock after 10 minutes but his curling shot denied by a good save from Sven Ulreich.

Ulreich was in action again soon after, when he acrobatically saved a Nuri Sahin header from close range, following a Marcel Schmelzer free kick.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had an effort disallowed for offside when he followed up Ilkay Gundogan's shot which was well saved.

It wasn't long before Aubameyang had the ball in the back of the net. Some neat build-up play from Marco Reus and Shinji Kagawa set up the Gabon international for his ninth of the Bundesliga season.

Seven minutes later and a teasing cross in was missed by everyone but a foul on Georg Niedermeier from Nuri Sahin led to a Stuttgart penalty. Sahin was fortunate not to see a red card for denying a goal-scoring opportunity.

Florian Klein made no mistake with the penalty and gave visiting goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller no chance although he dived the right way.

It wasn't long before Dortmund regained the lead though, just seven minutes in fact.

Beautiful link-up play from Schmelzer and Kagawa set Ilkay Gundogan free in the penalty area and the German cooly slotted past Ulreich.

After the break, Kagawa nearly made it 3-1 after being slipped in by Aubameyang but the Japanese international hit his shot straight at Ulreich.

It was a quiet second half and Sahin's long range shot was well saved by the busy Ulreich to prevent it becoming 3-1.

Another offside prevented Aubameyang from scoring his second of the night after Marco Reus was too quick on to a Henrikh Mkhitaryan pass.

A poor backpass from Timo Baumgartl gifted Reus the chance to make it 3-1 and he did. The German attacking midfielder composed himself and rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home.

Stuttgart replied immediately when Niedermeier headed in a flick on from a corner to make it a nervous last minute for the visitors.

Jurgen Klopp will feel his Dortmund should have made the scoreline a lot more comfortable after dominating for large parts of the game.

Stuttgart's trouble's continue and they stay bottom of the Bundesliga and could be seven points from safety if results don't go their way tomorrow.

The three wins in a row for Dortmund mean they are now 10th. They are starting to play more like how they are expected and are moving away from the relegeation worries.
