It was announced yesterday that Fortuna Düsseldorf trio, Heinrich Schmidtgal, Dustin Bomheuer and Robin Heller wouldn't be offered new contracts at the Esprit Arena when their contracts expire in the summer.
Scmidtgal has been plagued by injuries during his time with Fortuna and has missed 72 games since his move in 2013 from Greuther Fürth for around £1.1 million. The Kazakhstan international has only appeared in four competitive game this campaign die Flingeraner.
Bomheur has failed to break into the first team after a move from MSV Duisburg in the summer of 2013, appearing in only eight first team games this season.
For Robin Heller it's a similar story; the young German hasn't featured at all for the Fortuna first team, making his contribution to the club's second side in the Regionalliga West. The academy product has failed to displace the more experienced Lars Unnerstall and Michael Rensing and has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Esprit Arena along with Schmidtgal and Bomheuer.
