The future is extremely bright for Borussia Dortmund, especially with this set of players in their academy.

Borussia Dortmund have extended the contracts of a quartet of promising youngsters: Dzenis Burnic, Felix Passlack, David Sauerland and Dominik Reimann have been handed articles until 2018.

The four players in question have been in superb form this season for Dortmund's youth sides. Brunic, a versatile defensive player, and Felix Passlack, who has caught the imagination of BVB fans, have the potential to be huge players going forward for the club.

Passlack in particular has been inspired recently, scoring nine goals and adding five assists in his last four games. He is also the captain of Germany and BVB's under-17 sides.

Sauerland, was part of the side that became Deutscher B-Jugend U17 champions last season, and Reimann are also Germany representatives and are key players for both their club and national under-18 teams. 

Larks Ricken, coordinator of Dortmund's youth, said: "It wasn't just winning the title last season that demonstrated just how important these four young lads are for us."

He continued, "They've also shown real signs of their continuing positive development this year. The fact that all four have been given long-term contracts underlines our long-term work here at BVB."
