The Coface Arena is set for a rather low pressured encounter, with both teams clear of the drop their focus can now fully be on finishing another campaign on a high. Mainz mathematically can still go down providing an extraordinary event occurs, Köln travel south after an impressive and efficient win at home to Schalke last Sunday.

Mainz have been poor of late and successive losses to relegation candidates Hamburg and Stuttgart has brought close scrutiny of Martin Schmidt's tactics. After impressive wins away to Freiburg and home to Schalke it seemed as if Mainz had found the kind of form that had seen them secure European football last season but the last two weeks have been a setback and with the added troubles of Erik Soto's horrific knee injury the Karnevalsverein will have to work had to get back on track.

Köln secured their Bundesliga status with an impressive 2-0 win over Schalke last Sunday. Despite their opponents from Gelsenkirchen offering little threat a win was no less than Peter Stöger's side deserved. A run which has seen Die Geißböcke go unbeaten in five has seen them gain many admirers in recent weeks and plenty of their talented squad are set to be targets for top clubs in the summer.

The previous meeting between the sides in December brought a dull 0-0 draw with little action to saver for the sell out crowd. This weekends encounter is set to be much more of an exciting game and with both sides in search of a win its set to bring much interest from those in the ground and around the world.
