At the Olympiastadion, the Hertha supporters will be on the edge of their seats throughout the entire match hoping that their side can gain at least a point to ensure their safety for another season in the Bundesliga as they take on out-of-form Hoffenheim.
Going into today's final match of the season, Hoffenheim have only won one of their last eight league matches. Luckily for them, all this meant was that they are out of the running for any kinda of European action for next season's campaign as they currently posses the ninth spot in the table. There is a chance that Hoffenheim could slip down all the way to 12th should results do not go their way.
In their last match against Bayern Leverkusen, the visitors for today's match played horribly as they suffered a 2-0 defeat. Young Hakan Çalhanoğlu opened the scoring right before halftime and Stefan Kießling finished it off in the 61 minute which ended a three match goal drought for the veteran forward. One bright spot in Hoffenheim's season has been the emergence of 23-year-old Brazilian play maker, Roberto Firmino. Although he scored a lot more goals last year, Firmino really took control of the offense and created a whole bunch of chances that could, or did, result into goals.
Hertha's roller coaster of a season ends tonight and there is still have a slight possibility that they could get relegated; although multiple results have to go against them and that is highly unlikely because all they really need is a point to be safe. The result against Eintracht Frankfurt was a good one as they picked up a very important point. However, the match itself was one of the poorest of the weekend. Neither side was able to string together more than five or six passes before the ball was eventually kicked out of bounds or was given away very cheapily.
