Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will be going nowhere this summer, his club insist.

The Belgian was heavily linked with Bayern Munich in recent weeks, but Bayern have opted to wait till at least 2016 to make a move for the £43 million man.

De Bruyne last season has been a stand out performer for the Wolves, he broke the Bundesliga assist record, assisting 21-times last term. That wasn’t his only stand out moment; he scored 10 league goals this season adding the icing on the cake last weekend when he got his name on the score sheet, helping Wolfsburg win their first DFB Pokal.

Bayern Munich were not the only team hot on De Bruyne, the former Chelsea midfielder had attracted several clubs across Europe.

Wolfsburg Chairman Francisco Javier Gacia Sanz issued a ‘hands off’ to the top guns in Europe, telling them to not touch the 23-year old or any of his side, who finished second in the Bundesliga, falling ten points short of runaway winners Bayern Munich.

Speaking to Bild, the chairman said "We want to confirm our success this season in the future and, for that, we are keeping this team together."

De Bruyne certainly helped his side cement their place in next seasons Champions League, even better for Hecking and the Wolfsburg fans, De Bruyne still has four years remaining on his contract at the Volkswagen Arena.

"Maybe I'm playing the best football of my career right now," De Bruyne said. "I had some good years in Belgium and with Bremen, but now I'm playing at a top club in one of the best leagues in the world and it all has an even greater meaning."

De Bruyne also ruled out a possible move back to England, coldly confirming he will not move back to Chelsea while Jose Mourinho is in charge.
