Kicker have today reported that Sejad Salihovic is leaving TSG 1899 Hoffenheim after nine years at the club to join Chinese side Guizhou Renhe.

Salihovic had a year left on his contract in Germany, but a lack of playing time is likely to have played a key part in his decision following a 2014/15 season consisting of just 13 league appearances.

With the 30-year-old still an integral part of his national team set-up, regular game time will be desired as he hopes to continue playing for Bosnia & Herzegovina for many years to come.

"It was an exciting and especially emotional time I have experienced with the TSG," Salihovic told Hoffenheim's website. "We have celebrated many successes, and what has been built here in recent years, is just fantastic. It's nice that I was able to witness all this from the beginning.

"But now the time has come that I had to decide whether I again want to do something different, and I have decided to get to know something new. The decision is not easy for me but it has matured long.

"There are just times in life when you have to make such decisions. I want to try something different. And maybe I'll even come back. I can well imagine."

Salihovic started just five league games all season for Hoffenheim and did not play 90 minutes in any, even seeing himself subbed off at half time in two of these. Still, he managed two goals with a wicked left foot that will be fondly remebered in the Kraichgau for helping the Bosnian become the club's record scorer in the Bundesliga with 46 goals.

His new club, Guizhou Renhe, finished sixth in the Chinese Super League last year, but they currently sit in the relegation places after 13 games in 2015, three points adrift. With just 10 goals scored all season, they will largely benefit from the arrival of Salihovic and hope he can bolster the squad and help them improve on a poor start to the new campaign.
