3. Liga side, Chemnitzer FC, have signed Marco Rapp from SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a two-year deal - with the option for another.

The 24-year-old was captain of the Shamrock's Regionalliga Bayern side, leading them out on 23 occasions last term.

Towards the end of the year, he was rewarded with those performances and played five matches for Mike Büskens' 2. Bundesliga team - helping to keep them up.

Karsten Heine, head coach, called the transfer "an important building block" for Chemnitz, who finished an impressive fifth in the 3. Liga.

Anton Fink led the side with 17 goals last season, and Rapp will be key to linking the East German club's play in the 2015/16 campaign.

Heine continued: "In addition, the player has a high degree of understanding of the game.

"Marco is able to connect defence and attack from the centre of the pitch, and vice-versa."
