Wolfgang Niersbach, the DFB boss, and German ski jumping star Felix Neureuther have drawn the second round of the DFB-Pokal.

The draw for the German Cup was conducted after the conclusion of the game between Bayern Munich and Hamburger SV, in which the home side won 5-0.

The draw

Four matches involve Bundesliga teams playing each other: SV Darmstadt 98 host Hannover 96, 1. FC Köln travel to Werder Bremen, Borussia Mönchengladbach are hosts against FC Schalke 04 and last year's Champions, VfL Wolfsburg, play at home against Bayern München. Ironically enough, that was the last fixture that was drawn.

The second round of the cup will be played on 27th and 28th of October. Josep "Pep" Guardiola's team will have the opportunity to take revenge on Wolfsburg, against whom they lost in the German Supercup 4-5 after penalties.

The last time Borussia Mönchengladbach and Schalke 04 played against each other in the Cup, a certain Marco Reus played a brilliant match in the 3-1 home win against the Königsblauen. Darmstadt and Hannover face each other on matchday one in the Bundesliga. For Anthony Ujah, who moved from Cologne to Bremen, it will be a special match to play against his former team mates.

Last year's finalist, Borussia Dortmund, have a fairly easy home game against last year's relegated Bundesliga side SC Paderborn, while 1. FC Nürnberg host Fortuna Düsseldorf in a game full of tradition.

Viktoria Köln look to spring a surprise

An interesting match is the local derby between fourth-league side Viktoria Köln and Bundesliga top team Bayer Leverkusen. Viktoria Köln surprisingly beat 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Union Berlin in a thrilling game 2-1 after being 0-1 down at halftime.

The only fifth-league team, SSV Reutlingen, who beat Karlsruher SC in an incredible game with three penalties and three red cards, will be hosting 2. Bundesliga side Eintracht Braunschweig.

Carl Zeiss Jena, who beat Hamburger SV after extra-time in the first round, have to deal with the next Bundesliga club, VfB Stuttgart.
