Hertha BSC have today, Wednesday, that midfielder Haijme Hosogai has completed a loan move to Bursaspor.

The move contains an option to buy for the Turkish club after the one-year loan deal is completed. It is a move that has been on the cards recently, given the speculation that has been flying around the German media as to his preferred destination. He also only made 20 appearances for the capital club, in what was a troubled season for Hertha in general.

A stellar showing while in Germany

Hosogai has been in Germany since the 2010-11 campaign when he signed for Bayer Leverkusen and then immediately loaned to FC Augsburg, who were a 2. Bundesliga club at the time. The Japanese midfielder came in during their promotion push and then was tasked with anchoring their midfield in order to keep the SGL arena outfit in the league. He did just that, missing just two games on the way to helping them avoiding relegation.

The sharks came circling but Bayer kept the clever midfielder amongst their ranks. He featured just 17 times for die Werkself and was understandably unhappy about not playing with the regularity he had in Bavaria and at Urawa Red Diamonds. That promoted another switch and a cut price move to the capital, which seen Hosogai really shine.

Hertha bag a bargain

Hertha got the best year of his stint in Germany and what a season it was. He became a diamond in the rough playing the defensive midfield role for many onlookers, helping Hertha to a fantastic return to Bundesliga action. However, last term was similar to his breakthrough at Augsburg and then the switch to Leverkusen. Despite this, he'll most likely have fond memories of his time in the German top flight.

Hosogai will surely strength a Bursaspor side who lost Ozan Tufan and Enes Ünal, their two starlets, in the summer. A Japanese international, He won the Asian Cup with his nation and has scored once in 28 appearances since making his debut in 2010.
