Halftime: Eintracht Braunschweig 0-0 1. FC Heidenheim

As the second half progressed, there were chances few and far between from either side. In fact, 16 minutes had eclipsed before the first decent look at goal. Kevin Kraus' whipped in a cross that found the feet of Hoscheidt. He tried to get a good chance at goal but his shot did not produce enough power.

Nik Omladic nearly found the opening goal 15 minutes into the second half before his touch took him wider than where he wanted to be and the angle he shot at was too tight to make any kind of impact.

Late goal secures the three points for Braunschweig

The goal came late in the match and it was well-worked by the 21-year-old. Khelifi turned at the top of the box to create space for himself and as a result, he floated the ball into the top left corner of the net.

Four minutes after the goal, it was the visitors who nearly leveled the game off a shot from distance via the foot of Titsch-Rivero; however, Gikiewicz used his quick reactions to tip the effort up and over the crossbar limiting the damage to a mere corner.

Omladic whipped in a free kick deep into stoppage time, got it on frame, but the Heidenheim goalkeeper stopped the shot to keep the score at 1-0 right before the final whistle was blown.
