It was a matchday that threw up little in the way of shocks and surprises, with Bayern Munich maintaining their huge lead at the top of the table after a busy week of DFB-Pokal action. SC Freiburg's incredible run does, however, show no sign of slowing after another impressive win.

1. FC Köln 0-3 VfL Wolfsburg - Wolves are back on track

After a topsy-turvy week, which saw them beaten by Turbine Potsdam before beating the same opponents in the Pokal, the Wolves secured their spot at second for another week with a routine win.

Caroline Graham Hansen, who has been in incredible form recently, notched up yet another goal and - most crucially - just before the break. The Billy Goats remained defiant and did not disgrace themselves, and only for late Elise Bussaglia and Isabel Kerschowski strikes it would have been a much closer affair.

A win would have moved the hosts out of the relegation zone following their first win of the season last weekend, as Marcus Kühn's side continue to battle against an immediate return to the second tier.

Turbine Potsdam 4-0 Werder Bremen - Turbine continue to climb the table

Despite a disappointing defeat to Wolfsburg on Wednesday, Potsdam are going from strength to strength in the league. After Svenja Huth's haul last weekend, she was on the scoresheet in yet another high-scoring win.

Huth opened the scoring within 10 minutes, before Viktoria Schwalm added to their tally at the end of the half. The ever-impressive Lia Wälti scored midway through the second period, and Laura Lindner applied the finishing touch in added time.

The hosts are now back within touching distance of fourth and just six points from the top three. Bremen, however, remain in the relegation zone and their game against fellow strugglers Köln could prove massive in the final game of the year.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 1-3 Bayern Munich - Bavarians march on to set points record

Bayern made it 10 wins from 11 league games this season with another triumph on Sunday, this time over Hoffenheim. Unsurprisingly, it was Sara Däbritz and Melanie Leupolz at the heart of their success.

The reigning champions showed no signs of tiredness, despite going to extra-time against Werder Bremen in mid-week, and went ahead early on through Däbritz. It didn't take long until her partner in crime, Leupolz, to get on the scoresheet and leave Hoffenheim two-nil down after 20 minutes.

The hosts did threaten a late comeback, as Nicole Billa netted within the last 10 minutes to set up a grand-stand finish. Despite the best efforts of Hoffenheim, the final goal of the game would go against them. Däbritz scored her sixth of the campaign, restoring Bayern's nine point lead and leaving Hoffenheim in the middle of the pack.

Their current haul of 31 points from a possible 33 is a new Frauen-Bundesliga record for this point in a season.

SGS Essen 0-3 SC Freiburg - No Magull, no problem

After winning one of their first seven games, Freiburg have now claimed three triumphs in their last four and are continuing to look good value for their current fourth place position. Essen, after sitting pretty in third last week, now find themselves down in seventh.

Even without star striker Lina Magull, they were still able to get the job done. It took until the very last play of the first half to find a break through, as Hasret Kayikci secored in the second minute of added time.

Giulia Gwinn and Sandra Starke scored in quick succession towards the latter end of the second period, in what was yet another very good performance by the Schwarzwald side.

Bayer Leverkusen 0-4 1. FFC Frankfurt - Hosts swept aside by impressive Frankfurt

It was easy pickings for a rejuvenated Frankfurt side, who have now won their last three games following a rotten run during the middle of the Hinrunde. They swept aside lowly Leverkusen on Sunday to keep pace with Wolfsburg ahead of the final game of 2015 next week.

The scoring came in bursts. First, Mandy Islacker notched up the first goal of the game just before the half-hour mark, while veteran Kerstin Garefrekes added another in the lead up to half-time. Leverkusen held their own for the remainder of the game, though two late strikes put the gloss on a big win.

Kathrin-Julia Hendrich and Isabelle Linden scored within a minute of each other prior to the final whistle. The defeat means Leverkusen could yet end the year in the drop zone, and are just three points ahead of Cologne at the bottom.

SC Sand 2-1 FF USV Jena - Sand soar to fifth with hard-fought win

Sand claimed an important win over a struggling Jena on Sunday, bringing them up to fifth in the table. The visitors, however, are languishing dangerously close to the bottom two.

Amber Hearn and Jovana Damnjanovic scored twice in the first half to trade goals and leave the game even at the break. Though the home side would finally get the goal to seal all three points, as Jana Vojteková converted from the spot with 20 minutes remaining.
