On Wednesday, 1860 Munich confirmed that Felix Uduokhai had signed a professional deal through to 2019 with the club.

Well-deserved new deal

Uduokhai has been without the Lions since he was just eight years old, and has risen rapidly through their ranks in recent years.

The 18-year-old made his debut for Germany's under-19 squad in November of 2015, and his constant hard work has been rewarded with a new deal.

Despite his youth, he has made over 50 appearances across the club's youth teams and possesses a sizeable frame.

A promising career ahead

"Sechzig was our first port of call, even though for Felix had four offers from the Bundesliga and three offers from the 2. Bundesliga," said Michael Koppold, his agent.

He continued, "The financial aspects are not always decisive. We had very good conversations with Oliver Kreuzer."

Koppold spoke of "a noticeable optimism" between themselves and coach Benno Möhlmann, which Uduokhai found "very positive".

The teenager's agent also spoke of the "very good work being done" at their youth academy, and believed they offered the "best perspective to develop".

Sporting director Kreuzer also spoke of Uduokhai's "physical condition, excellent technique, his game intelligence and a very good character".

Finally, the player himself had his say: "I grew up with the Lions and know the entire environment. I feel very comfortable here."

Mulic on the verge of leaving

It isn't all good news for 1860 fans, as Fejsal Mulic looks to be on his way out of the club.

The Serbian under-21 forward has seen very little time on the pitch this season, which has understandably driven him to canceling his contract.

Kreuzer said, to kicker, that a few formalities remain before the decision can be finalised to allow Mulic to move on.
