Union Berlin have completed the signing of 22-year-old Danish goalkeeper Jakub Busk. The young stopper has already linked up with his new teammates after joining the club at the start of January for a trail. Busk has obviously impressed the coaches at Union and the move was quickly completed.

Busk has signed a deal with the 2. Bundesliga side which will expire in the summer of 2017.

Despite the short term deal, the capital club have high hopes for the young 'keeper. Nico Schäfer spoke to their website, "He is a goalkeeper with great prospects and we hope that he can develop his talent with us"

The young Danish stopper will hope to takeover the number one jersey from Daniel Haas.

Loans fail to pay off

After coming through the youth ranks at FC Copenhagen, Busk finally made his senior debut in May 2013 when Copenhagen played Randers FC. Sadly for Busk, his first appearance resulted in a 1-0 defeat.

Unfortunately Busk struggled to get game time at Copenhagen and only went on to make six more appearances. A couple of loan spells away from Copenhagen were needed and the first of which saw him move to AC Horsens in 2014. During that stint Busk managed to play eighteen times, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

The next spell away from Copenhagen was also on foreign soil. Norwegian club Sandefjord came calling and although it wasn't the best of spells - with just one clean sheet from fifteen appearances - it did provide Busk with some valuable experience in another league.

Exciting times ahead

Following his announcement. Busk spoke to the Union Berlin website and was excited by this opportunity, "I am very happy that Union and FC Copenhagen could agree so quickly. The first few days in Berlin and in training camp have convinced me to take the step abroad." He added, "I am very excited about the new challenge. I'm still young and I want to develop myself."

Busk has plenty of experience at international level, having played for Denmark from under-18s up to the under-21s. The youngster has featured 37 times for the sides.

It's unlikely Busk will be making an impact in the first team right away, however it will be interesting to see just how far he can develop at Union Berlin.
