     Serie A kicked off with a 1-0 win for Milan over Chievo Verona at the Stadio Marcantonio stadium. This was Milan’s 11th win in a row over Chievo, Chievo have suffered their first loss after staying unbeaten for four games in a row note that their last loss was to the other Milan side Inter Milan in the same stadium. While Milan are unbeaten in their last eight away Serie A games their last loss was on the first of February to Lazio. Milan shot only four shots on target this game; this is their second worst record on goal in this Serie A campaign.

     At the Juventus stadium Juventus won their fifth game in a row over Lazio. Juventus are now undefeated in their last 32 games in Serie A, and they have defeated the Biancocelesti in six of their last seven head to head games. For two seasons now whenever Simone Pepe scores for Juventus they do not lose  and the player who assisted his goal Andrea Pirlo reached 11 assists this season only player above him is Fabrizio Miccoli. On the other hand Stefano Mauri scored his second goal in a row this week denying Gianluigi Buffon from a sixth clean sheet in a row. Alessandro Del Piero celebrated his 700th match with his 288th goal for Juventus. Note that Del Piero’s goals this season were scored against teams from both the Capital of Rome and Milan city (Milan, Inter Milan, Roma and Lazio)

     The battle against relegation ended 1-1 between Genoa and Cesena. The team with the weakest offense (Cesena) are now without a win in their last 14 games and they got fourth consecutive draw this week. While the team with the weakest defense (Genoa) are without a win in their last 11 games. Adrian Mutu has scored eight and assisted one goal this season which means the Romanian player is directly involved in 47.4% of Cesena’s goal this season.

     After eight home games undefeated Catania suffered a loss against Sersi Cosmi’s surprising Lecce. Lecce have lost only one game in their last 11 matches in Serie A. Bergessio's goal is the 24th scored from set-pieces for Catania this season which means Catania have scored 57% of their goals from set-pieces this season. Di Michele's goal this week means he scored three goals in his last two games for Lecce.

  Novara suffered their ninth loss in the last 11 away games when they traveled to face Parma in the Ennio Tardini stadium, Parma grabbed only their second win the last 11 games in Serie A. Sebastian Giovinco scored the 800th goal of this Serie A campaign and raised his tally to being directly involved in 18 goals this season which is 43.9% of Parma’s goals this season. After nine games in a row finally Parma were able to grab a clean sheet.

     For the first time after four games in a row in their head to head games Fiorentina flourished a clean sheet against Palermo. On the other hand Palermo also got a clean sheet after conceding goals in their last 11 Serie A games. Fiorentina have only once in the last seven Serie A games.  

     Roma managed to win for the sixth time in their last seven head to head games with Udinese, in six of their last seven encounters Roma scored at least two goals against Udinese, Roma only lost once in their last 11 home games. In his last five games for Roma Pablo Osvaldo was directly involved in seven goals by scoring four and assisting three. Gelson Fernandes scored his first goal for Udinese this season, the goal was assisted by Antonio Di Natale who raised his tally to 20 goals and seven assists which is 61.4% of Udinese’s goals this season.

     In the Giuseppe Meazza there was a game between 11 Italians and 11 none-Italians, at that game Inter managed to win from two goals from Diego Milito who is now with 20 goals only three goals away from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milito has now scored eight goals in his last eight games for Inter. With Inter Milan’s new coach Andrea Stramaccioni they are unbeaten in their last three Serie A games. Also note that Inter Milan are unbeaten against Siena in their last 16 matches in Serie A with 12 wins and four draws.

     After four games failing to find the net Atalanta exploded as they humiliated Napoli with a 3-1 win. This was the first time Atalanta scored against Napoli after six head to head games were Napoli managed to keep clean sheets, and it was Atalanta’s second away win from the last 12 games. Also note that Atalanta are the first to break Napoli’s home seven games unbeaten record. Napoli have lost their last three Serie A games conceding three goals in each and they failed to keep a clean sheet in the last seven. 

     At the Renato Dall'Ara Bologna grabbed a win against Cagliari after four games in a row without a single victory. Cagliari have now lost their last four away games in Serie A, failed to score in six of the last seven away games and their last away win was back on the fourth of December 2011.
