Slovenian international, Josip Ilicic, is travelling to Florence to complete a medical ahead of his move to Fiorentina, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ilicic's agent, Amir Ruznic has previously told Radio Blue that the player had chosen Florence as his preferred destination: "Ilicic has chosen Fiorentina. Now we are just waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement... the player is very calm."
It looks as though the deal has finally been agreed between the two clubs. Sky Italia have reported that a deal worth £7.7 million plus performance related bonuses has been accepted by Palermo for the player.
The 25 year old attacking midfielder had a strong end to the 2012/13 Serie A campaign, despite his club being relegated to the second tier of Italian football. Ilicic scored 11 goals in 31 games, his best Serie A return so far.
Fiorentina see Josip Ilicic as an ideal replacement for Jovetic, who signed for Manchester City last week.
