Saturday

Livorno 0-3 Parma

Raffaele Palladino put Parma up early converting a Jonathan Biabiany cross and Parma continues to win with Antonio Cassano on the bench. Amauri added two late goals to seal the win, and possibly the fate of Livorno boss Davide Nicola. It’s rumoured Livorno management have approached Domenico Di Carlo, and possible Giovanni Trappatoni about the position should it become available. Livorno are winless in their last 8, and sit in 19th on 13 points. Parma have climbed to 8th on 26 points.

Bologna 0-0 Lazio

A goalless draw between Bologna and Lazio saw Edy Reja’s undefeated return to the Capitol city side continue, albeit what should be considered a disappointing result having beaten Inter last weekend. Meanwhile the struggles for Bologna continue as they now sit just 2 points above the relegation zone, with a chance to fall closer if Sassuolo can upset Milan later today. Lazio are in 9th on 24 points, while Bologna are in 16th on 16 points.

Sunday

Torino 0-0 Fiorentina

Torino were able to hold Fiorentina to a 0-0 draw in what ended a string of victories at 3 for the visiting side. “It would’ve been the perfect performance if we’d just got one of those chances into the net. You couldn’t see the gap in quality on the field,” Toro boss Giampiero Ventura told Sky Sport. Torino continue their impressive start with 26 points, while Fiorentina remain stagnant in 4th on 37 points.

Atalanta 2-1 Catania

Amidst heavy fog in Bergamo the ever reliable German Denis was the difference maker with a second half penalty, before a Maxi Moralez strike on 85” sealed the win. Leading a counter attack Moralez cut in from the left, and powered home from just outside the six yard box. Catania made things interesting as Sebastian Leto tapped in a Boateng cross as the match expired, but it was always going to be the Nerazzurri. Atalanta are tied for 12th with 21 points, while Catania remain bottom dwellers with 13 points.

Verona 0-3 Napoli

A match whose score belies its true nature saw powerhouse Napoli overcome upstart Verona.  Mertens gli azzurri ahead in the first half cutting in from the left and curling it into the bottom corner past Raphael.  Insigne doubled the lead finishing a Christian Maggio cross, before Dzemaili added a third to put things away. Napoli keep pace with Juventus and sit in 3rd on 42 points, while Verona could potentially fall to 6th with an Inter win tomorrow. They have 32 points.

Cagliari 1-4 Juventus

Yet another match whose score does not tell the whole story, Cagliari struck first as Mauricio Pinilla drove a fallen corner past Buffon and gave Juve all they were worth. A Llorente header from a Lichtsteiner cross levelled the proceedings but it appeared destined for a draw. Marchisio’s entrance midway through the second half really opened things up as he hit a stunner from distance to shock the home side, and it was a blow out from there. Lichtsteiner assisted Llorente for a second, before cleaning up an Adan spill to get a well-deserved goal. Juventus remain in first on 52 points, while Cagliari sits in 13th on 21 points.

Roma 4-0 Genoa

Roma silenced any doubters who thought the Juve loss may have been their undoing by thrashing Genoa 4-0. A stunning Florenzi bicycle kick from a chaotic corner set the tone early, before Totti, Maicon, and Benatia all added goals. Roma remain 8 points back of first place with 44 points. Genoa sit in 10th awaiting on the Milan result, as they are only a point up on the Rossoneri with 23.

19:45 GMT

Sassuolo 4-3 Milan

A Domenico Berardi quadruple ensured Sassuolo the upset in a victory which saw Milan coach Max Allegri fired on his way home from the stadium (reports claim he recieved a phone call from Galliani in transit). 12 minutes into the match it appeared to be a completely different scenario however, as Robinho opened on 9 minutes, and Balotelli fired home on 12 to put the visitors ahead 2-0. Berardi answered with a hat trick before the break, and a 4th immediately following the restart to put him Sassuolo ahead for good. Montolivo made things interesting with a 3rd for Milan on 86 minutes, and both Honda and Pazzini hit the post in the dying moments, but it was not to be. The win sees Sassuolo climb out of the relegation zone, and Milan stuck in 11th.

Monday

18:00 GMT

Sampdoria 3-0 Udinese

A match which saw 3 goals, 3 red cards, and a double from Eder ended with Sampdoria vaulting Udinese up into 12th place, a single point behind Milan. Eder broke the scoring within 10 minutes, and Daniele Gastaldello ended it in the 87th. Manolo Gabbiadini added 2 assists for the Blucheriati. Udinese are now back in 15th place on 20 points.

20:00 GMT

Internazionale 1-1 Chievo

In what continues a poor start to the new year for Mazzarri's men, Inter dropped points for the third consecutive time after Alberto Paloschi shocked the Nerazzurri within moments of starting whistle. Yuto Nagatomo converted a cross to level things on 4', and the match was stale from there. Inter missed a valuable chance to secure 5th place, as they now sit tied with Verona ahead on only goal differential. Chievo meanwhile hobbled out of the relegation zone and sit in 16th place on 17 point.
