Despite her complete domination, the Old Lady of Turin had seemed incapable of finding the net until the 71st minute when Tevez got on the end of a exquisite Paul Pogba pass to break the deadlock and give Juventus a deserved lead.

The game got off to a cagey start with tackles flying in and the middle of the park a battle ground. After the early exchanges, Juventus started monopolizing possession with AC Milan content to sit back and repel their attacks.

Tevez played in Pereyra for a good early chance but the Argentine couldn't get his finish on target.

For all of Juventus' supremacy, Milan drew the first save of the match from Buffon. Having ghosted between Bonnuci and Chiellini, Honda was found by Muntari’s inch perfect diagonal ball. His headed effort seemed destined for the far post but the veteran struck out a right palm to make a reflex save.

The save revitalized Juventus, who tested Abbiati twice in quick succession. A flick over the head by Pereyra found Llorente in the box, the striker's effort was smothered by the on-rushing keeper.

Two minutes later, the Spaniard set up Pereyra for a curling drive which found the grateful gloves of the goalkeeper.

Leonardo Bonnuci wasted the best chance of first half. Left completely unmarked in the box, he was picked out by Marchisio’s dinked pass, only for him to loop a header over the goal.

Milan's midfield refusal to close down Juventus players    almost cost them. Given space to stride forward, Claudio Marchisio was unlucky to see his left footed drive crash against base of the goal post with Abbiati well beaten.

The second half started off in the same fashion, with Juventus dominating the play but chances coming at a premium.

A clever corner routine almost caught out the Rossneri's defence. A short pass was played in to the path of Marchisio. His first time shot flashed across the goal and narrowly missed the bottom far corner.

With 19 minutes to go, a moment of sheer brilliance from Paul Pogba and Tevez unlocked Milan's defence. El Apache exchanged passes with Pogba to coolly slot the ball beyond Abbiati. The reverse pass by the France International to set up the Argentine was absolutely sublime, well worthy of being the deciding moment in the game.

Filippo Inzaghi tried to change the course of the match by handing Fernando Torres his Serie A debut and bringing in Giampaolo Pazzini.

Both new entrants struggled to stamp any authority on the game and Juventus easily closed out the remainder of the game.

The win brings Allegri's Juventus record to 4 wins, 4 clean sheets in all competitions and he also was able to welcome back Arturo Vidal. The Chilean made his first appearance of the season as a substitute. For Inzaghi, he was handed his first defeat as AC Milan’s coach and was left with a lot to ponder about his midfield as they take on Empoli in just 3 days.
