The reigning Serie A champions, Juventus, travel to the infamous Vicente Calderón Stadium in Madrid to face off against La Liga champions and last years Champions League finalists, Atletico Madrid, in an important Champions League clash.

Both sides come into the game on the back off crucial league wins. Atletico Madrid claimed an impressive 4-0 victory over La Liga rivals Sevilla with goals from Koke, Niguez, Raul Garcia and Jimenez. On top of the result Atletico welcomed back manager Diego Simeone who returned to the touchline after serving an 8 match ban which the Argentine earned during the second leg of Atletico’s Super Cup win over city rivals Real Madrid.

Meanwhile The Old Lady continued their 100% league record with Carlos Tevez bagging a brace in a 3-0 away win to Atalanta with former Real Madrid striker Morata scoring the third goal for the Turin club.

Juventus won their Champions League opener a fortnight ago against Malmo FF in a 2-0 win that saw Tevez scoring his first, and second Champions League goals in over six years. However Atletico Madrid lost their Group A opener against Greek side Olympiakos 3-2 in a rough game for the visiting side.

The Turin club may be without Andrea Pirlo who is still returning to full fitness, while Martin Caceres and Andrea Barzagli are definite outs. We should see a similar, if not same Juventus starting lineup against Atletico that defeated Atalanta on the weekend. The La Liga champions are expected to field a full strength side.
