Genoa host Filipo Inzaghi's, AC Milan with both sides right in the chase for Serie A's third Champions League place.

Genoa have been the surprise package in Serie A this season and sit fourth level on points with Napoli for third. They have been very good defensively conceding just twelve goals with twenty-two year old Italian international, Mattia Perin excellent in goal. Alessandro Matri has impressed at the other end with six goals and four assists as Genoa have gone eight games unbeaten.

Nicolas Burdisso will miss the game for Gian Piero Gasperini's men which means Sebastien De Maio and Giovanni Marchese will start in the centre of defence for Genoa.

AC Milan are two points behind Genoa in sixth and are unbeaten in their six away games this season although four of those were drawn.  Milan have only lost twice this season but they have drawn six games which has cost them. In their last ten games they won three, drew six and lost just once. If Inzaghi can turn some of those draws to wins, Milan will have a great chance of returning to the Champions League next season.

The Rossoneri have had injury problems in the last few weeks and they will be without Alex, Ignazio Abate and possibly Mattia de Sciglio and Sulley Ali Muntari. Michael Essien also misses out due to suspension. Nigel de Jong looks set to return which will be welcomed by Inzaghi.

With both sides in good form there will be no shortage of confidence with both believing they can take all three points. With six teams being seperated by just three points between third and eighth the winners will find themselves in a good position in what looks like being an exciting battle for European spots in Serie A.
