Lazio are set to begin possibly the toughest two weeks of their entire season this Saturday night against Sampdoria in Genoa. The next four games for the Biancocelesti are as follows;

Sampdoria away who currently sit in 6th position, a Coppa Italia final against Juventus on Wednesday night, a home derby against Roma who are currently in 2nd position four days later and to round it out, an away game at Napoli who are currently in 4th position.

The club president Claudio Lotito understands the tough task at hand, especially as the club has only managed one win in its last five matches.

"We have three very difficult games. We have the possibility to qualify for the Champions League and that would be a dream considering that no one would have expected it from us at the start of the season. We must rediscover the fighting spirit we displayed earlier this year.''

Lazio have given away numerous opportunities to grab a hold of 2nd spot in the last five weeks to leapfrog home town rivals Roma. They will be hoping to rectify this in Genoa.

Meanwhile Sampdoria have also been in a form slump of their own, managing only one win in their past 7 matches. The comprehensive win coming last weekend against a struggling Udinese outfit.

The Blucerchiati's run home is a little more on the positive side with matches against struggling clubs Empoli and Parma to follow. Manager Sinisa Mihajlovic called for his players not to give up on their quest for European football.

"It would be a pity not to finish in the top six to qualify for Europe. We don't want to have any regrets and that is why we must take as many points as possible from our final three games.''

Both sides will be without key players due to injury and suspension including Federico Marchetti as well as midfielders Mauricio and Lucas Biglia for Lazio and Lorenzo De Silvestri, Alessio Romagnoli as well as midfielder Pedro Obiang for Sampdoria.
