Joint Capocannoniere winner, Luca Toni, admits he is happy to go down in history as oldest top scorer in Serie A history, after recently winning the award with 22 goals to his name.

"Last year I went close and came second in the Capocannoniere charts, but when I realised this term that I could actually win it, I really wanted to come first," Toni told the official Verona website.

"My secret is that I enjoy my football, am in good shape and living this experience in a relaxed way." he continued.

"I managed to make it into history and I am happy. I’ll continue as long as I enjoy myself. If I won the Capocannoniere charts, it is thanks to my teammates, so I’m trying to decide what present to get them."

This was the second time Toni was awarded the Capocannoniere having won the award in the 2005/06 season with 31 goals while at Fiorentina.

The 38 year old forward joined Verona in 2013 as a 36 year old and has been rewarded with a new one year deal which he is yet to respond to.

The President has more important things to think about right now. When he has resolved those issues, we will have a chat and decide if we can continue together or not.”

The 2006 World Cup Winner with Italy has also recently been linked with a move to Australia's A-League.
