Sampdoria are battling hard to sign Ecuador international Enner Valencia, and the team's president Massimo Ferrero is already in London holding talks to see if they can secure the services of the coveted striker.

Even though Valencia isn't the typical centre forward, as he's one that constantly moves in and out of the box, he has pace to burn and a knack for scoring great goals. Numbers might not show it since he only scored four goals in 32 Premier League matches but many believe the best is yet to come for the former Pachuca star, who arrived at the Hammers for a €15M fee last summer.

Sampdoria are rumored to be offering midfielder Pedro Obiang in the deal as West Ham has been reportedly interested in his services and the Premier League side has been targeting the 23-year-old for months.

Valencia is not the only reason why Ferrero is in London, however, as Sampdoria also received a Southampton bid for Stefano Okaka who could join another Italy international (Graziano Pelle) at St. Marys.
