Lazio are on the heels of a terrific season where they managed to clinch a UEFA Champions League berth and the aim is quite high for them when it comes to the upcoming campaign so there could be several additions joining the side as the team tries to take another step to the next level.
Considering that Cristian Ledesma is a candidate to not be renewed for the next season, Lazio are clearly looking to strengthen their midfield in a season where they will return to European football. They have been linked with several players and this time, they're expected to target to midfielders to partner up with Argentina international Lucas Biglia.
According to reports, Lazio are eyeing former Juventus playmaker Albin Ekdal but they're looking to keep their options open considering the transfer window hasn't even started yet. Ekdal had some decent performances with Juventus but his play has taken to another level in the last few seasons where the 25-year-old has thrived with Cagliari.
Another player that they've been linked with is Croatian playmaker Mario Pasalic who's coming off a solid season with Elche in La Liga. Pasalic, however, is owned by Chelsea so any negotiation would likely be a loan as The Blues see the Croatian as an important player for the future considering he's already performing at a high level with only 20 years of age.
Lazio are certainly expected to be active in the transfer market and these two players are only a handful of elements that could arrive to Rome in the coming weeks as Lazio gears up its return to the UEFA Champions League looking towards the 2015-16 campaign.
