Cristian Ledesma will leave Lazio when his contract expires at the end of the month as and is expected to move to the MLS with Sporting Kansas City interested.

Lazio have been heavily linked with numerous midfielders in recent days so it comes as no surprise that the veteran won't be kept on past his contract expiry.

Ledesma, 32, has been with the Biancocelesti since 2006 and has made over 250 Serie A appearances for the club in this time.

Last season the Argentine born one time Italian international managed just 13 games as Lazio finished third behind city rivals Roma and champions Juventus respectively.

In his nine years at the Stadio Olimpico, the defensive midfielder won two Coppa Italia's and one Supercoppa Italiana.

Sporting KC, currently sit third in the Western conference after 14 games and are on course for qualifying for the playoffs again. The club have won 2 MLS cups in their 19 year history and had been linked with a move for Rafael Van Der Vaart before the Dutchman chose Betis.
