Serie B side Cesena have acted quick following their sacking of Domenico Di Carlo over the weekend and have appointed Massimo Drago.

A club statement on the website read, "A. C. Cesena can confirm that  Mr. Massimo Drago has appointed as first team coach for 2015/2016 season. His staff is made up of the assistant manager Giuseppe Galluzzo, Athletic Trainer Andrea Nocera and technical director Fabio Ebali. Francesco Antonioli will continue his relationship with his club Juventus as goalkeeper coach."

Also in the statement, the club confirmed: "The new manager will be presented on Thursday at 12 at the press room of Orogel Stadium "Dino Manuzzi".

Drago, 44, leaves Crotone, his hometown club he also started his playing career with in the late 1980's, after three years at the helm. Last season, Crotone narrowly avoided both relegation and the relegation playoffs under his guidance.

In his first season in charge he guided the club to a 12th placed finish before going one better and making history by qualifying the Pitagorici for the playoffs for the first time in his second season.

Drago becomes the clubs eighth manager in just five seasons as the club have bounced between the top flight and second flight.
