Carlos Bacca has decided on his destination and will complete a move to the Serie A, joining giants AC Milan after they agreed a deal with Sevilla.

The likes of Liverpool and Arsenal were targeting the Europa League winner, but it appears he had his heart set on the Rossoneri once word came through of their interest.

Although no official fee has been confirmed, the figure being widely discussed is €30million, which some may consider a fair price for a player of his quality.

Bacca scored 34 goals for Sevilla in 71 appearances having joined following an equally clinical season at Club Brugge in 2012-13, where he bagged 28 in 45.

Galliani making statement of intent

Having had a poor season during 2014-15, the board at Milan will have been keen to make wholesale changes in order to try and win back the trust of the fans.

With Andreo Bertolacci joining from Roma, and now Bacca, they have gone some way to restoring optimism around this great footballing city.

Rivals Inter have done the same by capturing midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia and defenders Miranda and Montoya, meaning that both teams are now looking up once again.

Milan project rolling smoothly?

AC Milan have been linked with some very good players already in this mercato, with the likes of Axel Witsel and Mats Hummels mentioned alongside a possible return for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Perhaps Silvio Berlusconi has realised how far the club is falling behind, and with the money due to come through of Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol, they are set for a bumper window.

Without doubt, this leaves them with the potential for one of the best forward departments in Serie A, with Bacca joining last year's club top-scorer Jeremy Menez plus forwards Luiz Adriano and Alessio Cerci.

There are still areas to address for Il Diavolo, but they have certainly begun their business with intent, and are beginning to fill the void of optimism that currently exists.
