Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed in a press conference that he chose a stay at PSG rather than return to former club AC Milan.

The 33-year-old was linked with a return to the San Siro to play under Sinisa Mihajlovic at AC Milan and continue his love affair with Silvio Berlusconi, however rumours of his return quickly evaporated towards the end of the mercato.

Milan return considered?

Speaking in a conference for the Swedish national team, Zlatan stated: "I don't know about AC Milan."

"I am happy in Paris so I decided to stay," he added, "I know that Milan were a little desperate."

Zlatan scored 42 goals for the Rossoneri in 61 games over two years, firing them to Scudetto success in 2010-11.

Having been in Paris for three season now, many anticipated the forward to move on, with there even being reports of discussions between Ibrahimovic, his agent Mino Raiola and representatives of PSG about an early contract termination.

Nevertheless, the former Juventus and Inter Milan man decided to stay and fight for another title in Ligue 1, plus aim for a satisfactory Champions League campaign.

End of the road?

Ibra was asked about the possibility of him hanging up his boots in the near future, butit sounded like this wasn't something that had crossed his mind yet.

He told the media that when the time comes, for him to retire, they "will know immediately."

He went on to state that "The whole world will know and it will be big news."

Of course, talk is always circulating about stars such as Zlatan potentially joining the MLS, and this is something the Swede has openly admitted is an interesting possibility.

Whatever happens, Ibra has had one of the most decorated careers of any player, and when his contract expires at PSG there will be plenty of suitors willing to take his signature.
